This is a position for a CNC (Computer Numerical Control) Machine Operator on the Second Shift, to manufacture parts from raw material to completion per blue print.
A typical day for a CNC Machine Operator looks like this:
Start the shift at 2:
30 PM and ending around 11:
00 PMMeasure dimensions of completed products or work pieces to verify conformance to specifications.
Remove fixtures, tools, or other parts from equipment.
Replace worn equipment components and replenishing cutting fluid.
Mount raw material or tools onto production equipment.
Clean and maintain a safe workspace.
Learn and become inspired to continually improve.
Needed Qualifications & Requirements:
Education:
High School Diploma (or GED or High School Equivalence Certificate)Post-Secondary Certificate - awarded for training completed after high school (for example, in Personnel Services, Engineering-related Technologies, NIMS, CNC Trades, Mechanics and Repairers, Precision Production Trades)Knowledge:
Mechanical - Knowledge of machines and tools, including their designs, uses, repair, and maintenance.
Mathematics - Knowledge of arithmetic, algebra, geometry, statistics, and their applications.
Design - Knowledge of design techniques, tools, and principles involved in production of precision technical plans, blueprints, drawings, and models.
Production and Processing - Knowledge of raw materials, production processes, quality control, costs, and other techniques for maximizing the effective manufacture and distribution of finished components.
English Language - Knowledge of the structure and content of the English language including the meaning and spelling of words, rules of composition, and grammar.
Technical:
Equipment Maintenance - Performing routine maintenance on equipment and determining when and what kind of maintenance is needed.
Equipment Selection - Determining the kind of tools and equipment needed to do a job.
Operation and Control - Controlling operations of equipment or systems.
Programming - Writing G Code programs for various jobs.
Quality Control Analysis - Conducting tests and inspections of products, services, or processes to evaluate quality or performance.
Troubleshooting - Determining causes of operating errors and deciding what to do about it.
